Vancouver BC House Painter
Vancouver's wet climate makes paint prep and product choice everything. Skye Blue Construction paints interiors and exteriors across Vancouver and the Lower Mainland — proper prep, premium products, and a written warranty on every job.
A paint job in Vancouver is only as good as the prep. We pressure-wash exteriors, scrape and sand flaking paint, prime bare wood with a stain-blocking primer, caulk every joint and penetration, and apply two finish coats by brush-and-roll or airless spray. For interiors, we fill nail holes, sand between coats, mask off everything that isn't being painted, and use low-VOC products so the home is liveable the same day.
For exteriors, Vancouver homes typically need repainting every 7–12 years depending on exposure, siding material, and product used. We use 100% acrylic latex for stucco, fibre-cement, and wood siding — flexible enough to handle the freeze-thaw cycles without cracking. We use Benjamin Moore Aura, Sherwin-Williams Duration, and PPG Permanoid as our primary product lines.
For interiors, we paint walls, ceilings, trim, doors, and cabinets. Cabinet painting in Vancouver has become a high-demand service — a cabinet paint job is 1/4 the cost of cabinet replacement and gives a kitchen a brand-new look. We use a hybrid alkyd-acrylic enamel that cures hard, resists blocking, and looks like factory finish.
We also stain and refinish wood: decks, fences, floors, stairs, doors, and trim. Vancouver cedar needs a penetrating oil-based stain in year one, and we apply it on every new cedar project we install (deck or fence).

What's the best exterior paint for Vancouver?
100% acrylic latex — flexible, breathable, and holds colour in UV. We use Benjamin Moore Aura, Sherwin-Williams Duration, and PPG Permanoid. Avoid oil-based on exterior siding in Vancouver's wet climate.
Do you paint in winter?
Exterior painting in Vancouver requires temperatures above 10°C and no rain for 24 hours after application. We schedule exterior jobs between April and October. Interior painting we do year-round.
Can you paint kitchen cabinets?
Yes — cabinet painting is one of our most-requested Vancouver services. We degrease, sand, prime with a stain-blocking bonding primer, and spray two coats of hybrid alkyd-acrylic enamel. Looks like factory finish, costs 1/4 of replacement.
Do you offer a warranty?
Yes — every exterior paint job comes with a 5-year written warranty against peeling and blistering. Interior: 2 years. Cabinet: 3 years on the finish.
Are you low-VOC / eco-friendly?
We use low-VOC and zero-VOC products on every interior job unless the customer requests otherwise. We're happy to discuss specific products for sensitive households (asthma, kids, pets).
