Water in British Columbia comes from three sources: municipal supply, drilled or dug wells, and surface water (creeks, lakes, rainwater). For homes on municipal water, the work is straightforward — tie-ins, pressure boosters, point-of-use filtration. For rural properties, cabins, tiny homes, and boats, the work is more involved: matching the well or surface source to the right pump, sizing the pressure system, and designing a treatment train that produces safe, clean water for the household.

Jack brings more than twenty years of plumbing and gas experience — including many years working on Salt Spring Island, where rural water systems are the default rather than the exception. That experience is the foundation for our water-systems work: we design systems that handle real BC conditions — iron-bearing well water, surface water with bacterial load, hard water that kills water heaters, and fully off-grid properties where every drop matters.

For deep-water wells, we work with licensed drilling contractors across BC and coordinate the entire system: drilling, casing, pump selection and installation, pressure tank, electrical service, treatment, and tie-in to your home plumbing. We don’t drill the well ourselves, but we run the project and are accountable for the complete system.

For water treatment, we design and install multi-stage systems matched to your actual water analysis — sediment filtration, iron and manganese removal, water softening, reverse-osmosis purification, UV sterilization, and final carbon polish. We size storage cisterns, constant-pressure pumps, and booster systems for tiny homes, rural properties, and boats.

For marine vessels, we install watermakers (desalination systems), complete freshwater plumbing, and water-maker service. We work on coastal BC from dinghies to mid-size yachts, and our mobile setup means we come to your moorage.

For off-grid properties — cabins, tiny homes, remote homes, food trucks, and unusual installations — we design complete water systems that work with whatever power source you have: solar, micro-hydro, propane generator, or grid-tie with battery backup.

Mobile setup — we travel to the job. Travel charges may apply for distant locations; we provide those up front in any written quote.

How a water-system project works

Every project starts with a free in-home or on-site consultation: we look at your source water (well, surface, municipal), your household demand, your electrical service, and any constraints (space, access, power, remote-control needs). For rural properties, we strongly recommend a current water analysis — iron, manganese, hardness, pH, bacterial — and we work with local labs to keep that affordable.

From there we design the system, write a fixed-price quote, and schedule the install. Most pump and pressure-tank replacements are one-day jobs. Full treatment-system installs run two to four days. Well-drilling projects depend on the drilling contractor and can take a week from mobilization to commissioning.

Every system is commissioned on site — pressure-tested, flushed, sanitized, and tested for proper operation. You get a written walk-through of how everything works, what the maintenance schedule is, and what to watch for.
